We’ve got loads of takeaway apps here in Dubai, from Deliveroo to Talabat and Zomato. But now a new delivery service is aiming to transform the way we order, by focusing on food for alternative diets.

Pronto Eat only offers food from restaurants that are vetted directly by the firm for adhering to rigorous food standards standards – and makes it easy for customers to specifically filter by their dietary preferences.

It caters to vegan, and is set to launch in Dubai later this year following an initial trial in East London in the UK.

The app will also offer calorie counts and healthy food suggestions, with the company looking at delivering its own food from a warehouse.

Pronto Eat founder Abul Rob, who formerly worked for Just Eat, told Arabian Business: “Pronto Eat will cultivate the rapidly growing alternative diet scene, while actively promoting healthy eating with the launch of our mobile apps in mid-2019.”

It’s already serving more than 1,000 customers with rapid expansion plans including an aim of having 100 restaurants available via the app.

Rob hopes that the service will make it much easier for vegans to work out what they can eat from a takeaway – a process which can currently be difficult depending on how thoroughly an outlet has labelled its dishes.

It’s becoming easier and easier to go vegan in Dubai, with the city rapidly becoming more friendly towards plant-based eaters.

It means cutting out meat, dairy and all other animal by-products to eat a wholly plant-based diet.

From new dishes in your favourite restaurants to a wider variety of meat-free options in supermarkets, plus animal-friendly beauty products, going vegan has never been better.

And it’s looking like Pronto Eats will only make things easier.
