Fancy yourself as a bit of yogi? Or is yoga an activity that you quite like the idea of, but have never actually got round to trying? Either way, we recommend you cancel any plans you have for Saturday March 23 straight away.

Yogafest Abu Dhabi is coming to Umm Al Emarat Park, and it’s going to be one of the biggest yoga and wellness-based celebrations that the capital has ever seen.

More than 30 studios and health brands are joining forces to bring us a full day of rejuvenating classes and workshops.

Kicking off at 10am, the day will start with an inspiring opening ceremony, especially designed to get you in the mood to do some serious stretching and relaxing.

The activities are then spread across four areas throughout the day: the main stage and the healing, learning and kids’ tents.

Taking place in the beautiful setting of Umm Al Emarat Park, it’s also a great way of making the most of the sensational spring weather.

After all, you can’t practise yoga in the sunshine everywhere in the world right now.

Oh, and we should also mention that everything on the programme is totally free to attend. So it really might just be the happiest day of the year for any yoga fan.

Although this is the first hosting of Yogafest Abu Dhabi, the Dubai incarnation has been running since 2010, and the festival now attracts more than 5,000 people each year.

Yogafest Abu Dhabi is being launched by Sasha Quince, founder of Let’s Go Yoga, and Neli Merris, founder of Anandi Yoga.

They are hoping to bring the yoga and wellness community together, and create a welcoming and peaceful environment that everyone can enjoy.

The activities are suitable for all ages, and the workshops will excite and challenge everyone from yoga experts to total beginners.

Running in partnership with Ripe Market, the fitness-friendly event is a great way of learning and discovering more about yoga, and perhaps making some like-minded friends along the way.

The festival will run from 10am to 6pm, and registration is required for anyone who wishes to attend.

You can do this by visiting www.yogafest.me or emailing YogafestAbuDhabi@gmail.com.

There will also be opportunities to donate to one of Yogafest’s partner charities on the day.

We can’t wait to switch off our phones and indulge in a day of uninterrupted ‘me time’. Only happy and positive vibes are allowed, so leave your bad thoughts at the gate and get ready to discover some true zen.

Free. Mar 23, 10am-6pm. Umm Al Emarat Park, Al Mushrif, www.yogafest.me.
